Senior General Manager

What are we looking for?

We plan to grow over the next few years and we want the person in this role to be a huge part of that, so being extremely motivated and driven is a must! You will be comfortable managing and motivating a big team of employees, whilst also having the creativity to think of innovative ways to drive sales and increase footfall. Our people are very important to us and we need our General Manager to be a true and proven leader, setting a high standard and ensuring we are continually improving. As we are a young business there is a lot of scope within this role to stamp your mark, be an integral part of our growth and help develop the blue print for further restaurant openings in the future.

Who are we?

It all started with a Bang, or a Banger Bar to be more precise...

On 4th July 2015 the three Kohn brothers, and their friend Will, decided to put The Jolly Hog sausages (that by now were very very tasty), in a banger bap and start selling them out of a pop-up sausage Bar...

They then found out that people wanted to enjoy more proper pork, so Will and The Jolly Hog got together again and on 17th October 2016, Pigsty was born... in a shipping container on Bristol’s Wapping Wharf.

This year we have opened our second site on Gloucester Road, which was originally James Brown & Sons, an old butchery that existed from 1890-1950 and traded solely in Pork!

Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years’ experience in a General Manager role

  • Experience managing multiple sites

  • Experience in building sales strategies

  • Strong financial, business and commercial acumen

  • Driven by targets and results

  • Ability to think critically and creatively to help push both GP and staff development

  • Serious passion for food!

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Innovative! We like to do things a little different at Pigsty and we’d like you to share your experience and creativity with us

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for the performance of both the restaurants

  • Create and execute strategies for sales and staff development

  • Marketing – organising promotional events and discount structures for two different locations

  • Create and analyse weekly/monthly reports relating GP, labour, food and service standards and drive continuous improvement

  • Coordinate staff rotas

  • Budget management of both restaurants

  • Getting your ‘hands dirty’ and run shifts/serve customers on the floor

  • Create a culture of excellence amongst staff and ensure every single customer receives the highest level of customer service

  • Ordering and maintaining stock across both restaurants

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £34,000.00 to £40,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • restaurant industry: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Restaurant Management: 3 years (Preferred)
